 Promotion & Publicity

Promotion & Publicity promotes the college in positive ways to the students and the community. The Communications Department works with internal departments to assist in "getting out the word" about programs and services and the mission of the college.

The following is a list of how the Communications Department provides support in these areas:

News Releases and Media Contacts
The Communications Department helps the college president and staff present essential information to the public about programs and services. Consulting on the type of news of interest to the media is available. News releases are sent to established press contacts in the area.

Within Olympic College's service district (Kitsap and Mason County) typical media includes print (daily and weekly), cable television, and local radio. Programs may be arranged on community access television to promote program courses and services.

News Clips
A collection of Olympic College print media features, news articles, and advertisements is assembled and available in the Communications Department office for review.

Photography
The Communications Department contracts for institutional photography and maintains a bank of photos for college use that have overall appeal and complement the college's image. A wide variety of current photographs are available on the LAN drive in digital form.

Please contact the Communications Department with questions at 360.475.7106 or communications@olympic.edu.
